Chetan Bhagat started his career as a banker; after a decade of successful banking career, he got completely involved into writing and is now one of the leading writers of new-age India. Not only does he give motivational speeches, but he also writes columns for popular Hindi and English newspapers, basically focusing on matters concerning national development and youth. Chetan Bhagat is the novelist of five best-seller books – Five Point Someone (2004), One Night @ the Call Center (2005), The 3 Mistakes of my life (2008), 2 States (2009) and Revolution 2020 (2011). His latest and his first non-fiction book is "What Young India Wants” (2012).

His book "Three mistakes of my life" has also been adapted for a film called "Kai Po Che", but the movie is still in making.
His first novel, "Five Point Someone", talks about the life of IITian's and the pressures they have to face. His second book, "One Night @ a call center" talks about the lives of six people working at a call center, which changed overnight after receiving a call from God. Chetan Bhagat's third book is "Three Mistakes of My life". The story revolves around 3 friends and how their lives are affected due to earthquakes, unacceptable love, religio-political riots, and most importantly their own mistakes. His fourth book is based on his own real life marriage and the problems people face in inter-state marriages. The book is called "Two States". His fifth novel, "Revolution 2020" talks about a group of friends from a small town, Varanasi, who struggle to find success and love.
