Nacropolis the winner of DSC Prize for South Asian Literature in 2013 is all about drugs and the place as suggested in the title itself. But there is a lot more to read and understand in this book. About the Author
Jeet Thayil was born in 1959 and is popular as a poet, novelist, musician, and a librettist. His famous poetry's are These Errors are Correct, English, etc. Narcopolis is his first novel that he wrote from his personal life's experience. He is a famous musician and has performed many times. He is the editor of Bloodaxe Book of Contemporary Indian Poets, 60 Indian Poets and Divided Time: India and the End of Diaspora (a collection of essays).
His poetry These Errors are Correct won the Sahitya Akademi Award for English award. For his first novel Nacropolis he was also shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2012 and in 2013 he was the First Indian author to be awarded the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature for his book Narcopolis.
