His previous novels 'the Kite Runner' and the 'The Thousand Splendid Suns' were #1 New York Times bestselling books and almost 38 million copies have been sold of both these novels across the world. In both these novels Hosseini has explored the twisted friendships , broken families and relationships, and the turmoil that prevailed in Afghanistan during the most critical period of the nation.

About Author:
KHALED HOSSEINI was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. He moved to the United States in 1980 and became a physician but his love for story-telling got him into writing novels. His novels The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns were international bestsellers published in thirty-four countries and sold 38 million copies of it worldwide. The graphic novel of The Kite Runner was published in 2011 and it has been adapted into a movie as well. In 2006 he was named a US Goodwill Envoy to the United Nations Refugee Agency. He lives in northern California. And The Mountains Echoed is his new novel that is said to be releasing at this month's end.

a huge disappointment. the earlier two books were winner from the first page. the present story is totally incoherent, written in staccatos trying to be intercontinental-the consistency of story telling is totally lost- whipping up no emotions at all, it is time Khaled who has made his billions from the colossal unsurpassed human tragedy in Afghanistan to quit or he changes his subject or goes back to his medical profession
